Keep Your Turf Hydrated with Sprinklers

Keep Your Turf Hydrated with Sprinklers

How to Install Your Own Sprinkler Systems

Water is an essential part of having greener grass and healthier flowers. A lawn without the right sprinkler systems will experience dehydration and eventually death. Prevent this from happening by installing your own irrigation system.

It is not difficult to do it on your own. All you have to do is get the right tools and know the proper installation method. Here are some tips to get you started:

Get a Water Pressure Gauge

A sprinkler system will require the right water pressure to make it work. A low psi means your lawn irrigation will not have the necessary water it needs. Get a water pressure gauge from your local hardware to start measuring.

To begin, secure all faucets. Make sure that the only faucet that is running is the one you want to measure. This is to make sure that you do not get the wrong reading. After, adjust your water pressure to the required pressure to reach your system.

Lay Out Your Pipes

When you have the right pressure, start laying out the pipes you are going to use. Dig up the ground and start making a trench. Find out the optimal placement for your pipes and valve manifolds.

To make this process quicker, there are power trenchers available in the market. These machines are capable of making adequate trenches at a quick pace.

Install a Timer

Once you installed the pipes and sprinklers, hook your system to a timer. A timer is useful when you want to have an automatic sprinkler system. It makes watering your turf easier.

You need to make sure you get the appropriate timer for sprinklers. Set the appropriate time and watch as your lawn irrigation system does all the work.
